Musical Signers have being providing highly rated signing sessions since 2005. The company aim to improve communication skills via sign language and offer a variety of classes ranging from Baby Signing (for 0-2 years) to Deaf Awareness training for five year olds!

Work Description
We only sell Franchises for Musical Signers, which involves baby Signing and working with children in a variety of settings. We do not sell franchises for our work with adults.
The job is a varied one. Franchise managers need to be outgoing, confident and great with kids.
Baby Signing is offered as either a 40 minute session within nurseries and pre-schools, or a 90 minute session for mums / carers and their little ones.
Also on offer are classes for older children, usually up until the age of five. These may range from offering support to a class with a deaf child, introducing the idea of Deaf Awareness to children, or Signed Literacy sessions to encourage language development.
However, Franchise managers would also need to spend time marketing within their territory, networking with potential customers and completing general administration tasks associated with running a business.
Average hours per week
Working hours are variable and depend on each individual franchise manager. Sessions last between 40-90 minutes each, and are usually taught during school hours. Whilst some work is available during school holidays this can be limited and some Franchise managers may decide to work term-time only. Time spent on administration can vary from as little as two hours a week to as many as the Franchise manager feels is needed.
Investment required
Our initial franchise fee is £3,500. This covers the cost of training, equipment, uniform and our fees. We recommend that Franchise Managers also set aside at least £500 for marketing purposes.
No further monies are payable to Musical Signers for a further twelve months, when a monthly management fee of £30 becomes payable.
Please note that insurance and other day to day running costs are the responsibility of the Franchise manager.
Earning Potential
Fees for delivering sessions in nurseries, playgroups and children’s centre range from £35 upwards.
We recommend charging £5.00 per family, per class if running public sessions.
Franchise managers may increase their earning potential by employing Sessional Baby Signing Instructors to help teach extra classes.
 
Experience required
All franchise managers must have a genuine love of children, enthusiasm, integrity, honesty, confidence and good organisational skills.
Relevant experience would be desirable - preferably a level two in British Sign Language and some form of Childcare qualification (ideally Speech and Language Therapist or Teacher). However, we judge everybody on their own individual merits and will offer additonal training to the "right" person.
All Franchise Managers would be expected to produce a valid Enhanced Criminal Records check at two-year intervals.
